How to prompt for music videos?

Updated today

Do's

  • Be specific: use sub-genres, moods, and instruments.

  • Explain your visual idea in the prompt box as if you'd talk to a colleague

  • Attach images for visuals.

Dont's

  • Don't stay vague ("make a hip-hop track").

  • Don't overstuff lyrics - seed, don't script.

  • Don't expect first video generation to be perfect.

Step 3: Define the story / concept

For Businesses

  • Describe your product, features and value proposition or what you'd like to showcase.

For Creators/Artists

  • Describe the story or concept of your idea.

Explain your idea in the prompt box as if you'd talk to a colleague. The visual referencing is derived from the attachments which is the next step.

Step 4: Attach (the creative steering wheel)

Include as many images as you can, it can be a particular scene you want captured visually, characters or people you want in the video, products or backgrounds. Attach is your creative referencing.

🤓 Pro-tip: Use the text-to-image plugin in invideo to create a creative moodboard for your video. The more specific you are with your vision in images, the closer it will return what you’ve imagined.

Step 5: Generate

Select a plan and hit generate (Ultra works best). Invideo takes your prompt and assets, then orchestrates hundreds of creative decisions behind the scenes - writing scripts, crafting lyrics, composing music, and building visuals. Think of it as your own AI production house. After 2–3 generations, you’ll have enough footage to shape a standout video.

Step 6: Edit & Refine

Use invideo’s in-built editor to piece together your masterpiece. Advanced creators are able to export each video and work on it on Premiere Pro to create the final video.
