What are video minutes and how do we count them?

Updated over a week ago

Video minutes are used when you create videos using 'stock' media. Whether you're using your own cloned avatar as the actor or creating a faceless video without any actor.

💡 Important:

For videos created on v3: Video minutes are counted when creating videos using 'stock' and 'generative' media. So, if your video is 1 minute long, you’ll use 1 video minute and 7 credits (if the video is created using generative media as well).

For example, if you create a 3-minute video

  • On the Max or Generative plan with 200 video minutes, you’ll have 197 minutes remaining.

  • On the Plus plan with 50 video minutes, you’ll have 47 minutes remaining.

Here's how we round off the minutes:

Time Range

Rounded To

0 min 1 sec - 1 min 29 sec

1 min

1 min 30 sec - 2 min 29 sec

2 min

2 min 30 sec - 3 min 29 sec

3 min

3 min 30 sec - 4 min 29 sec

4 min

4 min 30 sec - 5 min 29 sec

5 min and so on.

💡 Note:

If you're creating a video using stock media along with an actor (either human or virtual) from our library, it will cost 5 credits per 30 seconds, as outlined here: How does the credit system work on invideo?
