How to add or remove overlays?

Updated over a week ago

What are overlays?

An overlay in video editing is like putting an effect on top of your video. It can make the video look prettier or more exciting by adding fun effects, like sparkles or glowing lights, without covering up the whole video.

You can add or remove an overlay by giving a command from the Magic Box:

👇 Important:

  • When you open a video in invideo AI, it defaults to Theatre mode.

  • Click the ‘Continue’ button to exit Theatre mode and reveal the Magic Box below the video.

If you would like to "add" overlays to the video, you can command:

  • Add light_leaks overlay

If you would like to "remove" overlays from the video, you can command:

  • Remove overlays for all chapters.

  • Change overlay opacity to 0

You can also do it from the Settings option as shown below:

Step 1: Click on Edit > Settings

Step 2: From here, you can change the overlay preset.

Click on save changes once done!

💡 Note

Overlays are not supported for portrait or short videos.
